From a young age, Rian's musical journey has been nothing short of inspiring. At just five years old, his mother discovered his extraordinary vocal talent and immediately sent him for vocal training to enhance his gift.
Discovering and Challenging His Voice
As Rian grew, so did his passion for music. With the support of vocal coaches and music teachers, he embarked on a journey to explore the bounds of his voice. Their encouragement led him to participate in singing competitions and art festivals, where he consistently dazzled audiences and judges alike, earning numerous gold awards for both solo and duet performances

High School
High school marked a transformative period for Rian. His music teacher recognized his potential and pushed him to explore the full spectrum of his vocal capabilities, helping him discover the color in his voice. It was during these formative years were when Rian began writing his own music, adding a new dimension to his artistry
A Breakthrough with "Heimwee"
In 2012, Rian recorded his debut single, “Heimwee,” which quickly became a beloved track among listeners in the Eastern Cape. The song’s enduring popularity on regional radio stations is a testament to its timeless appeal and Rian’s musical prowess
Radio Stardom and Recognition
Rian’s talent extended beyond singing, leading him to a successful stint in radio. In 2015, he joined Luister!FM 90.6 as a presenter, charming audiences with his engaging presence on multiple shows, including the Drive show and the Top 30 countdown. His impact was undeniable, earning him the Luister! Fm Public Choice Presenter of the Year award in 2016. These days you can catch Rian Friday nights 18:00 – 21:00, Saturdays 15:00 – 18:00 and Sundays 15:00 – 18:00 on Luister!FM 89.6 and 90.6 FM
Television Appearances and New Challenges
Rian’s charisma and talent have also graced television screens. In 2018, he was selected as one of the Top 24 on VIA’s “Die Kontrak.” In the words of his mentor Monique Steyn during die Kontrak “ Die sangloopbaan is defnitief daar vir hom, Hy moet nooit ophou sing nie”. His journey continued in 2020 when he stood out among 8,000 entrants to secure a spot in the Top 48 on the popular show “Maak My Famous,” hosted by Emo Adams.

unparalleled. His versatility allows him to perform a wide range of musical genres effortlessly, and he even delights fans with his occasional
yodeling. Rian remains a captivating presence in the music, radio and television world, touching hearts with every note.
